Finally Finished!!

After buying this kit of Santa in a Blue Roadster, it took exactly 1 1/2 years to finish it. Kirt did not think I would finish it. I was sooooo happy today to be able to finish this fun Christmas Picture. I did tell Kirt however that if I hadn't broke my leg it probably wouldn't be finished. I really was able to make great progress sitting on the couch for 12 weeks working on it. It kept my mind busy and now I have a great accomplishment to show for it. Ya Hoo!!!

Grandpa's Birthday

We had such a great time yesterday. We spent the day with Kirt's family. Donnie's 69 birthday. I enjoyed so much visiting with him. Everytime I go I learn from him. Donnie has been suffereing cancer for 3 years and he does suffer with an amazing attitude. He is so grateful and loves everyone around him. Last visit I had a feeling to ask him about his life. He was fun to listen to about how he loves dogs, his favorite color is either green or blue. He said the thing he misses the most is fishing with his grandkids. He LOVED his job, and couldn't tell me how many houses he built. I am sure he could drive me around the cache valley and show me every house he built or remodeled. Let alone the hand that he had in our own home here in Wy. Donnie has many friends and loves to go to Angie's for his daily visits with his friends and who ever else happens into Angie's for the morning. My own uncle has met him there many times. There were 60 people at his birthday party yesterday, which shows the effect he is having on the many lives around him. He has always given great service to those around him and even though not feeling the best is still serving and loving the people around him. There are many more things I could say about this man, but for today Happy Birthday Donnie and maybe next year we will 70 people at Golden Corral for your 70th birthday.

A NEW YEAR

I can't believe I let this sit for 1 year. I think I will try again. I haven't taken many pictures and so I will do a quick review for the year of 2010.

The 1st half of the year was great!!

1-working
2-HS Senior stuff, homecoming skit, planning graduation party
3-still writing to a missionary son
4-helping get sheep for 4-H
5-enjoying a grandson

About from graduation on is still in the questionable, challenging state:
1- May29 graduation morning, running around, doing laundry and fell on the bottom step, broke my leg. A Tibea Plateu Break to be exact. Go ahead cringe at the thought of that kind of break. Every dr. and every pysical therapist I told, did. I enjoyed graduation even if I was in a bit of shock( I recoginize that now) I had the softest seat in the house thanks to my sister-in -law being a teacher. She brought me her chair and I put my leg up and on the front row so the whole little town could see that I had injured myself AGAIN. Oh well!! The speaker was great.
Chad Hymas, he was in a wheelchair and since I was on his level , he talked to me alot. I enjoyed him.
2-Surgery with 2 screw put in my leg 1 week later, June 7th. I have a great dr. who got to add to my knee another scar. However since he cringed at this break, he had another team dr who helped him. He did a GREAT job and now I can put no weight bear for 12 weeks......LONG summer right. WRONG!!
3- First of July comes along I am healing and the Stake President calls. Wants to meet with us.
Kirt is called to be the Bishop and is sustained on July 11, 2010.
4-Start PT the end of August, and I don't finish until the 1st of Nov.
5- Got 3rd daughter to college, 2nd child returns from Brazil Mission, 1st daughter is expecting again our 2nd grandchild (due in June) and got through fair with 2 sheep!!
6- Still adjusting to a Bishop in the house, Hysterectomy for me on Dec. 7 finally decided to quit fighting it after 2 years, bit the bullet, plus insurance was already paid. Uggg....down again for a few more weeks.
7- 3rd daughter now home for her "summer" BYU-I has a great plan. 2nd started school today at BYU-I sending 4th to Washington DC soon, and 1st is still happy being a mom.

Life is an adventure.....I have learned to just take the challenges as they come. And not to get to worked up about them. Hopefully, I can keep up with my blog this year....it really is a great way to journal.

The Park

So I just didn't think I could let this one pass by. My little Eric is quite the young man. I just was amazed at him last night. He has taken on a project, (a little bit even over my head.) to build a park close by our house. He got on some architect program and drew out plans. We then met with a member of the town council and picked out equipment for this park.

I (as his secretary) then went to alot of buisnesses in town and got bids for this park. We had to put 10 packets together. Eric then presented this in front of 10 people, in a white shirt and tie. Boy, was I amazed (well not really, this boy just came to earth this way) okay, I was VERY proud, the right way I hope. He conducted himself like a professional. And, were they impressed?!! Oh, Yeah, they were very impressed with this young man. They said he was probably their youngest presenter and to come all dressed up in a tie? Awesome!!

Eric then left that meeting and grab the other packet and went straight to the town council and presented the same plan and let them know that he had just asked for $80, 502 REAL dollars to put this park together. WOW!!!!!

Sheep Adventures

I am not sure why today, it really struck me. I have lived here almost all my life and just never got into the cowboy, ranching part of it, but just today I decided I must really be a true native of this state thanks to my sons.

A few years ago, my oldest son decided to take pigs for a 4-H project.What an adventure. Honestly, if it hadn't been for some great friends, I am not so sure I could have survived such an adventure. My friends had it all under control, I think?, well, how can you really have pigs under control. But not only did we finish one year, we ended up doing several years of pig 4-H, and we truely do have some great memories of our friends and pig adventures.

Now my youngest son has decided to do a sheep 4-H project!! What a laugh, do I know a thing about sheep........NO, not a lick, except that they seem a bit calmer than pigs! So these little lambs have to be purchased before April. What am I thinking?? But, once again thank goodness for helpers. My lil brother and sister in law this time!! They know a ton!! We have to get a pen ready and food and all the equipment and....and.....and.

Kirt tells me today, you are a better person than me to take on all the projects you do.

I told him, not better.......just creating memories!!! Wish us luck!!!!

Cherry Red Ford F150

So Kirt and I got our anniversary getaway. It was a blast. I hadn't realized just how much stress I was under when DH asked, after shopping all morning. Is there any thing else you need?

YEAH!!! 5 more days in a tropical paradise? PLEASE!! I figured we could just drive to the airport pick a WARM, GREEN, COLORFUL place to go and not come back. Sounds easy enough to me!?!!

Instead, we drove to the Ford shopping mall. Oh, PLEASE how dare we go without our youngest 12 year old!!! The boy who actually knows all the blue book prices AND could have probably helped us better than the salesman. Ford F150 are his ultimate favorite and if he knew that his mom actually got in behind the steering wheel of a HOT, cherry, red Ford F150, I think he would have actually passed out on the ground, with excitement. Kirt was talking on the phone in the parking lot to his sister, I jumped in honked the horn, he ignored me and I was off. I took my test drive. Kirt didn't even have a clue I had left.

The Cherry Red Ford was okay to but I will look forward to test driving my silveryblue mustang one day. (I couldn't find the right color on the net so this one will have to do.) That car I think I'll just drive right off the lot. I think I'll just keep that one.

We just had such a fun getaway!!!!!!

I REALLY LIKE FEBRUARY!!!

I have always liked the month of February, but every year it gets better and better!!

My top ten reasons why I have enjoyed the last few days in February......

1. NO shots in the stomach this year!!! Yeah, my knee is finally on it's way to healing!!

2. Went to a chiropractor last night and he really did help my pain, in my back and neck. It was so nice to be mostly pain free today. And I hope it will only get better!!

3. I think the chiropractor helped DH as well, I just had to laugh because DH felt MY pain all day. He really thinks the dr. cracked me up, YEAH....he did , you would have to meet this dr.

It's kind of a long, funny story, one to be told in person. : )

4. Made DH favorite cake and favorite meal for his birthday. He loved it. We also have some beautiful spring bulb flowers to celebrate with.

5. Started a new blog with my sister. It is a new RS recipe blog check it out it should be a ton of fun especially those who moved from here might really enjoy recipes from home. http://www.sistersinaprons.blogspot.com/.

6. Still loving my new exercise program........many have asked what it is all about, I'll tell you more about it as I progress.

7. ITS OUR ANNIVERSARY on Sat. We are going to the temple then to the temple open house with the ward and family. How much fun is that? I can't wait.

8. Then we are slipping away another weekend to be alone. We are holding true to our tradition. We always pick a different temple every year to go to. Temples we have been to in the last few years...Las Vegas, St. George, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Deigo, Logan, most of the Salt Lake Valley Temples, Most of the Idaho Temples, Nauvoo Temple.

In 2 years................. ( our 25 anniversary).....Hawaii Temple on a cruise. Can't wait!!!!!

9. Love Valentines day!!! The students were so cute today, I just love this school day!!

10. I don't know what it is It must be LOVE in the air.....February is always a breath of fresh air for me. I just love it!!!

Wish you could do this?? Yeah, me too...and I am....sort of. Okay, I swim every other day at ta..da...5:30 in the AM and bike in the afternoon everyother day that the pool isn't open.
My mom found a new excercise program that I am going to try and......so far I LOVE IT. It takes 20 min a day and......when I am done I found that I really do feel better. So I am going to try this for 6 weeks, minus the pain killers and the steroids that I am about over, cause they make me gain....So 6 weeks and if nothing happens to changes to my body then, then , .....I DON'T KNOW what I will do next. I have already done 1 week and the changes that I have felt are this just in 1 week....

1-TONS more energy
2-blood sugar is acting different( I'm not as dizzy, okay I am always dizzy in the head, but this is a different kind of dizzy, ya know what I'm sayin")
3- I am hungry, I think I emotional ate before, but now I am physically hungry when I should be
4-legs seem to be toning.......ALREADY--K' it could be the steroids, who knows
5-SEEMS to be stregthing the knee
6-I haven't had sore muscles
7-don't see to be cravin the sweets- not sure if its in my head
8-MORE oxygen in the lungs
9-Eyes aren't red anymore, could be cause of no more meds-ya feel like a druggy all this past year
10-TON MORE energy
So ther ya have it --week one-- I have 5 weeks to go!!!

My Missionary Boy

So here is my missionary!! Doesn't he look great?? Top picture, they went paintballing, I am beginning to wonder if this is his first paintball experience as well. Not sure about that one. I looks to me like the game is over, and he is safe and sound!! Below pic. his first comp. in the MTC they look just like a pair of missionaries and he looks happy!! Isn't the gospel wonderful.

I couldn't believe it when I got in my car today and the mirror read -30 degrees. I couldn't believe we were actually going to school. Are we CRAZY??? I think we need to pass a town ordinance that if it is -30 and the wind isn't blowing then we shouldn't have to get in our cars and go school. The school has a policy and it has to be zero to go out to recess. Our poor little guys got no recess outside today. I think those little kids ( and me)need to stay nice and warm in their beds and reading by a fireplace, don't you?? Our nostrils stuck together and our lungs froze up. And there wasn't a cloud in the sky!!
My brother who lives down by the river said it was -40 and the wind was blowing and the wind chill was most likely more like -50 or -60. He told the kids that if it got any colder they wouldn't have to go to school. CRAZY!!!!!
I wonder how long this will last!!

Found: Burned Clothes

As I was cleaning out my closet I found some clothes that had all kind of burned holes in them. At first I wondered where they came from then I remembered that these were the clothes that were burned on an airplane or in an airport somewhere a few summers ago. I had meant to take pictures then but forgot and put them away. So here they are.

This is the shower. The bathroom is a separate room. The shower and toliet is in one room and the sink is on the out side of this room. The sink is actually open to the whole bedroom. I am really happy with the way this part of the room turned out.

An organized closet is also open to the sink part of the room. So it is also a nice dressing room area

I am loving our finished basement and so happy we now have this space to live in.

Finally a new year. Last year had many happenings, and I am happy to say I journaled more due to the blog. I now have a copy of my blog on paper and I am hoping it will be looked at over and over again. I will also be adding to my "hardcopy" journal through the year and maybe it won't be so much work at the end of the year.

I also am happy to say that I won't have to sign in every time I want to blog. I stopped blogging when I had to sign in, What A Pain!!!!! I will however be more cautious about names, thanks to a suggestion of a good friend who is tired of signing in too. :=).

This month is already a busy month. I am happy for a fresh, new start and maybe I won't be in so much pain. It has been one year since my knee injury. I have found out recently however, that probably because I walked crooked all year I now have a herniated disk. I am finding ways to fix that and am not going to let it get me down.

We will be traveling this month for the All-State Concert. Our '' Music Girl" is excited to be going and renewing some friendships. Our "Missionary Son" is now serving in his area, and feeling pretty lost not knowing the language. Our " Mom to Be" is coming home this weekend so "Dad to Be" can work, for our little "Grandson to Be." And "Ford Boy" has straight "A"s on his report card so far. Our" Handy Man" has finished the basement, (well almost) we need to do some touch up paint. YUCK!!!! Pictures to come.
